Café Vincents at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne
Our café at St Vincent’s Hospital provides a fabulous example of the overhaul of the hospital environment into a vibrant commercial concern for which we aim at all of our outlets.
Standing in front of a bain-marie displaying more than 30 different hot dishes of tantalizing international cuisine, with more colourful and enticing salad and sandwich displays stretching way off to your right - without even catching sight of the fresh fruit/smoothies bar or the to-die-for cakes - you can easily find your senses rattled. Add to this image a sports-mad group of thirty-somethings engrossed in the big-screen coverage of the one-day test in Perth, a teenage couple huddled over their hot chocolates, and an elderly doctor settled on one of the comfortable sofas, text book in hand, and you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d taken a wrong turn and ended up in a funky mainstream café rather than the once dull and lifeless St Vincent’s bistro/cafeteria in Melbourne’s inner suburb of Fitzroy.
An additional service Zouki offers at St Vincent’s is the management of the hospital’s many meeting rooms and lecture theatres. In order to perform this service at the high level to which we aspire, we draw constantly on our experience in running reception centres – while at the same time benefiting from our experience with hospital and co-located research precinct requirements at the Alfred. In exchange for taking on the responsibility for co-ordinating the hospital’s many seminars, staff meetings and functions, through the booking and maintenance of these various rooms, we have exclusive right to all catering within the hospital. As an indication of the quality of the catering service we offer, this year alone we have catered for over 200 private functions, amongst these a number of weddings, for members of the hospital’s staff. |
